Synod, Take 3!

Hello all once again.  One item that absolutely bears mentioning is that the 23rd General Synod of the Polish National Catholic Church has not only elected a new Prime Bishop (check out this article, with a short interview with PB Elect Mikovsky), but has elected on the first ballot a new bishop. Our New Prime Bishop…

Congratulations to Bishop Anthony Mikovsky, pastor of Saint Stanislaus Cathedral and Ordinary of the Central Diocese, who has been elected with two-thirds majority vote to the Office of the Prime Bishop.  (more…)

It is a strange feeling to be back in Scranton while this Synod is going on.  I really feel like I am missing something, and although I’m only an assistant priest and would not get a vote anyway, I’m on the outs.  (more…)

Although I went to college at University of Hartford for “Professional and Technical Writing,” I did quite a bit of coursework with Philosophy, Communications, English, and Journalism.  Enough so that I could have “triple minored” if there was such a thing…which there isn’t.  Double, yes.  My only goal was to not say anything that would get my in trouble with… (more…)

Here we are, on the precipice of the 23rd General Synod of the Polish National Catholic Church. Here we are, with 4 Bishops, all with but 4 years experience, potentially vying for the office of the Prime Bishop (if, of course, the Holy Spirit breathes in a particular direction). (more…)

PNCC on the Internet

Why does the PNCC have such a poor presence on the internet?  It isn’t like this internet thing is new.  And although for a denomination, the PNCC would be considered new (113 y/0 church =”new”), we’ve been around for the entire internet age.  I can remember thinking back in 2000 how awesome the PNCC website was, with its new-fangled message board and how neat it was for a parish to actually have its own website.
