Hello All: Yes, I went through one of my periods of writer’s block or writer’s indifference or whatever.  Here is to a new year and a renewed dedication to writig.  My goal is to write more posts in 2011 than in 2010.  Here is what my computer told me to post for today: (more…)

Quick Note

Filed under: General — frj82 @ 2:24 pm

If anyone would like to begin receiving emails from Saint Stanislaus Cathedral, drop a line in the comments.  We are going to begin sending newsletters and other crazily interesting things beginning at the end of this week.  Anything to increase the flow of communication.

May Be

As the weeks burn on from Easter, and as April faded into May, I had quite a bit to reflect on over the last few weeks and especially looking towards May.  April 2010 was extremely frustrating for me personally (more…)

I was told my blog updates should be more frequent and more personal – well, hopefully not too personal, I can’t imagine the public clamoring for the insights of yours truly, but not my will but thy (nameless person) will be done.  Here are 5 random/interesting occurrences over the last few weeks. July Tidings

As I continue to prepare my lecture for Kurs 2009 (sponsored by the Central YMSofR of the PNCC), I have to sit back and think about the last few days.  June turned into July, and with it came one of the top 5 holidays of the year (my Christian leanings aside, Thanksgiving is the obvious #1).  (more…)

Surfin’ Like a Priest

I had a YMSofR meeting tonight, under auspicious clouds and threat of rain.  But what caught my (everyone’s) attention was when I revealed I check my email something like 5 times a day when I’m home.  Needless to say, everyone thought this was a bit excessive.  Eh.  Just think if I blogged on a regular basis or tweeted.  (more…)

June=Cold Rain

Greetings again all.  As the Polish National Catholic Church continues to celebrate the Octave of Pentecost (yup, the coming of the Holy Spirit isn’t a one-and-done event here), we get prepared to shrug our shoulders, take a deep breath, and brace ourselves for what Sunday morning has to bring. Don’t Call it a Comeback!

Really…don’t call it one.  After a month away from blogging, I decided to triumphantly return…in a couple of days yet.  Between May Devotions every Wednesday and Friday, winding down Elementary School, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation Classes, Red Sox season heating up, Celtics and Bruins being choked out, picnic and golf season opening, my 1st trip to Atlantic City, a trip home to Massachusetts, Saint Ubaldo weekend in Jessup, working out almost every day (honestly, 26 out of the last 30 days) while eating junk most of them, and general lethargy, I somehow completely forgot that I had a blog.  (more…)

Born a Travelin’ Man

I’ve hit the road a little bit over the last few days.  Every priest in his right mind needs to take a day off somewhere at some point after Easter and before the nights of May fill up with May Devotions to Mary.  So, due to some lucky scheduling and fortunate proximity, I pulled off a nice 28 hour trip to Atlantic City and Philadelphia last Thursday and Friday.  (more…)

Happy Days

Today is a good Happy Days day.  The sky is grey, the air is cold, I have my jacket on inside my office, baseball season is still a week and a half away, and the United States lost in the World Baseball Classic Final Four.  Well, nobody cares about that one.  But here are a few things that caught my eye or crossed my path over the last few days.  (more…)
