My First Post

Hello everyone.  For everyone here, my name is Jason Soltysiak…or Father Jason to most.  I am a priest of the Polish National Catholic Church.  I am currently at St. Stanislaus Cathedral, which you can visit online by going to Yup, I did the website too, which is not a technological feat by any means.  Anyways, the purpose for this blog is manifold.  I went to college at University of Hartford in Connecticut for Professional and Technical Writing, which is wonderful except for the fact that after I graduated I went to Seminary and became a priest.  I mean, I’m not writing as much as I thought I would be when I enrolled in college way back in the fall of 2000.  I will be practicing my deteriorating writing skills, hoping to bring them up to snuff again.  I will keep people informed of what is happening at St. Stanislaus Cathedral, in my life (but not too personal, people don’t care).  I will give a theological view on sports…or maybe I will gloat/complain about my beloved Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots.  I will also publish first my “Rola Boza/God’s Field” articles here.  I write periodically for the church’s newspaper, so I’ll publish here what I write and include never-before-read articles that never quite made it through to print.  So for fans of my writing…wow, it is your lucky day.  I’ll give progress on my two kittens, Frankie & Batman, talk about current events, books, movies, pop culture, yada yada yada.  My girlfriend (yes, priests in the PNCC are allowed to get married) of about 6 years is always surprised about how much pop culture I know.  Her, like the rest of the world, can count on one hand how many times they have ever beaten me at playing along with Jeopardy on tv.  I don’t intend on being boring, but I also don’t intend that more than a handful of people will ever read thisI also will speak of a number of issues that may affect you and I in terms of a person-to-church relationship.  Now, I know that does not sound crazy exciting, but hear me out…how many 26 year old priests are blogging these days?  Maybe more than I care to know…but anyways, I will be updating pretty frequently, especially at first.  So, I hope this kickoff is appropriate and we will see where this goes.  This will, for the most part, be a pretty “official” blog.  At the 10th Synod of the Central Diocese last week, we were told by Mr. Fred Aebli to take advantage of whatever technological savvy we might possess…so here goes.
